MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Job Summary: Developing tools and processes for products manufactured, assembled, and packaged on site.

Function of Position:

  • Design tools and fixtures
  • Manage new tool design through build and production launch
  • Document set up and production procedures for tooling and processes
  • Provide technical production support
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, fixtures and/or processes that have been identified as non-conforming
  • Develop product protection plans and packaging

Ideal Skills:        

  • Proficiency using 3D CAD Software, SOLIDWORKS preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of
    • Metal component fabrication including, slitting, stamping, laser cutting, forming, turning, welding, and machining
    • Metal finishing operations including, bulk cleaning, vibratory finishing, electroplating, conversion coating, and powder coat application
    • Lean assembly techniques
  • Hands on Quality Measurement Techniques for SPC
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the office and factory floor
  • An understanding of industrial controls such as PLCs, relay logic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems a plus

Required Qualifications              

  • Education – Bachelors Degree in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Discipline or an Associate Engineering Degree with Tool and Fixture design experience.

This position will report to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.
